PSAT/National Merit Scholarship 高中会组织10年级，11年级的考PSAT，只11年级的PSAT才算。PSAT满分1520，RW760，M760，换成SI-selection index=(RW/10) x 2 + (M/10) x 1，最高228。均为1480, SI(RW720+M760)=220, SI(RW760, M720)=224

NMSF各州1% cutoff index 不同，加州麻州新泽西最高通常223，South Dakota 209。去年题简单，错一题扣20/30分，结果大家都低， cutoff 低于往年均值1-5；今年阅读难，错4道只扣10分，大家都高，由于疫情，在11月15号之前申请可用SAT代替PSAT(cap 228)， cutoff估计高于往年均值1-3.

每年16000个NMSF, 需要有一个confirming SAT score（今年免），在PSAT考期的前一年到后一年的SAT都可以。NMSF刷掉1000, 会有15000个NMF，其中一半即7500成NM scholar, 每人奖$2500. 2500人由NMSC给, 5000人由父母参与公司及录取学校给。剩余7500 NMFs只有Title，没奖金，但是很多州大及私校给奖。

私立USC，US News #24， NMF减一半学费；Baylor U几乎全奖。公立UF #30，NM scholar全奖。Texas A&M #66，NMF $10K x 4年+州内学费,+其他奖项, 近全免。U of Alabama, UT Dallas等校全奖。
