请教summer pre-college program 有关问题

女儿8年级，最近被学校老师推荐得到一个邀请，类似pre-college program. 名字叫做NYLF (National youth leadership forum) Explore Stem. 暑期一周时间在一个大学里，住宿和学费$2500，不知是否值得参加，以前从来没参加过类似活动， 我也上网查了一下，很多大学都有面向高中生的summer program. 现在犹豫是等女儿上高中以后找一个好大学参加这种暑期课程，还是今年暑假参加这个，想听听有类似经验家长的意见，谢谢!
