ABCDE * 4 = EDCBA
As soon as we got online and connected, Lucas said: “Can I show you something?”
“Sure”, I replied.
He brought up TextEdit and started typing, and explained: “I encountered a problem in our math class which is similar to what we played before. It looked like ABCDE * 4 = EDCBA with A, B, C, D and E each being a digit.”
21978 * 4 = 87912
“Do you want me to show how it holds?”he continued, “Here is the vertical form”.
2 1 9 7 8
* 4
__________
8 7 9 1 2
Then I realized that yes we did write a small piece of code together to search solutions of a similar math problem a few months ago.
Ah ha, I’ll challenge other kids with this one. Stay tuned. ;-)
