You may have a point if the room is neat for the sake of being neat.
An organized room inspires confidence. You don't want your son to marry a girl whose room is messy, or your daughter to marry a boy who wastes time looking for his stuff.
You may say, I heard that genious (name: fill the blank) has a messy room. But for every such genious, millions languish in their parents' basement (picture the room.)
A messy room offers ample distractions for a distracted mind, because its owner does not possess the energy to focus, or he wants to distract others away from his real responsibilities.
