Find her things to do:
Toys from mindware.com. Ask her to show you what she built. Praise and reward her for the work. Encourage her to use her hands.
Magazines from cricketmedia.com. Ask her to tell you the stories she read.
"The Cartoon ..." books by Larry Gonick. Ask what she learned, the ideas.
Join her in playing the video games, pester her with all the dumb questions you can think of.
(6, 7th grade is a critical year, harder to catch up if falling behind.)
