你应该可以claim那个500--

Form 1040（https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf）在dependent那里（P1）有选项--不合适child credit的（年满17），可以选另外一个，为后面拿500打下基础。。。

你家收入高（大于18万），没有education credit吧。
