First of all, congratulations to all with superior GPAs, you earned it in one way or another.
My daughter was awarded a generous multi-year scholscholarship from an oudside organization, renewable each year if she could maintain a 3.0GPA. Last year, she was struggling with some of her classes and she let us know her hard time with it. She is already stressed enough. There is no need for us to demand even more or question her, except to confort her to use her time wisely.
To renew the scholarship, she must submit an official transcript each year to the organization and it is renewed automatically if it meets a 3.0GPA requirement. The award is sent directly to her school. My job is to kindly remind her to submit the transcript on time.
August came and went, September came and went.I did not notice any sign of the scholarship award. The first half of October came and went, still no sign of it.
In the summer, I had prepared myself to accept the fact that she might not have met the gpa requirement, which is unfortunate but I accept it whole-heartly.
Came the next billing cycle, three months later after she submitted her transcript, the award finally appearred in her account. What a relief!
I was very proud of myself for not nugging her about it, and I had to apologize for not believing in her (silently in my mind). I am proud of her even more.
I understand that, if she did not meet the gpa requirement, it will not be due to lack of trying in her part, nor lack of effort.
I keep on saying to her that her college life is more than a transcript.
