这句到底应该填什么？

I noticed Marcus was feeling depressed when I saw him _____________ over on the couch.

 

我儿子填了slumping，老师判他错，说正确答案应该是slumped.因为整个句子是过去时。

 

但是据我以前学的语法来说 saw somebody do something or saw somebody doing something才应该是正解啊
