诚心请教：目标工程，去哪个本科学校？

国内朋友的娃无锡天一高中国际班毕业，收获颇丰。目前在考虑去哪个大学读本科。最终目的是学engineering，报physics是曲线救国。家长比较喜欢加州的大学，但是担心转专业不容易。这儿的专家人士给指点一下！多谢！
