regarding "大藤的小中都没有所谓的大奖"

You probably did not recognize the names of those 大奖 for the ABC boys admitted in Harvard. All boys here have at least 2 9-10 awards in two different categories, if i remember it correctly. My take home message is just opposite: ABC boys need 大奖 to get into top schools, and need 2 in different catogories to EA harvard.
