in my understanding, your son is not ready for the level. why did you want him to stay in the honor's class? it will hurt his self-respect. children will undersand what they learn sooner or later. it is not necessary to push kids too hard. my friend's girl was in honor class for her English and math. she told her mom that she is not happy with the class and does not have time to play with her friends. so her mom let her go back to a regular class. she was in law school now.
then move him to a regular class
