Nobel Prize in physiology $ medicine to award a technique development. The only exception is gene knockout, but that was awarded with ES cell, which is a scientific discovery. All the other technology developments such as PCR, Sequence were awarded for Nobel Chemistry, not Physiology & Medicine, and this one is hard to be recognized by chemistry committee.
