Yes, IQ is like height, kids are born with it, but it also carries psychological effect and stigma which are more powerful than height.
As parents we need to accept and cherish our kids regardless what they've born with. The whole meaning of parenting and education are based on effort and release kid's potentials. However, the message in IQ test results (high or low) doesn't help to promote efforts or give enough credits to kid's effort. If they do well or poor, all can atribute to IQ.
My kid has done it solely because he had other issues, IQ tests have neen routinely used by psychologists to identify mental-behavioral issues in children.
