Preparing for law school only requires taking LSAT

That can be done AFTER graduation. Law school admissions perfer applicants with work experience (full time jobs) because they are more mature, know how to deal with people, and have a better understanding of the society (in comparison to K-JD applicants). They are also more employable by law firms. Think about it: Would you trust a 25-years-old with ZERO real world experience to handle your divorce proceedings or patent applications?

A good GPA is a given. Work for a couple of years in the IT industry. If you are bored, take LSAT and measure yourself in terms of logic thinking/reading. If your LSAT is above 170, you have an excellent chance of entering T14. If above 175, HYS is within reach.

If you enjoy working in IT industry, no need to jump ship.
