Money and power easily drive people to do things they do not intend to do . . .

Try the same thing with S & T: for example, drive Trump to a biology lab . . . without the promise of either money or power!  Ask him to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico without promising him of any monetary return. That's much harder than promising to millions of people in TV of things he can't deliver!
