I have to say, I disagree with you guys

At lower level, as programmer, you guys maybe right, but once gets to a higher level, say, senior, or architect, the abilities of being creative, communicating, presenting, organizing, and analyzing play much more important roles and usually ABCs have more advantages on these things.

software development is a huge area and has a lot of potentials as a professional path and I personally believe we should encourage our kids to go that direction.
