I said "the culture and the government and you all take faulty positions". Thus I agree with you that the parents have the right to teach their children however they see fit, provided that the parents do not infringe upon the children's property rights (surely including their bodies not be injured and they are not killed in the name of education).
I agree with you that the government has no rights to forcibly indoctrinate children of a particular ideology. That is precisely why I said "the government" was also to blame in the previous comment. Sadly this is happening all the time. This is exactly the consequence and logical dilemma of the public educational system. The system is set up by the government and they sure have the right to influence what is taught there. The simplest solution is to abolish all public school system and let all schools be private (It is a grave misconception that all private schools have to be expensive.) The parents can choose which private school would fit their idea of education. The sad state we are in is that we have to pay taxes destined for public schools even if we send our kids to private schools.
At least you can tell your kids what your opinion is regarding marriage amongst many other things. I think it is important to tell them what others are doing is their own business and yours, but they should have their own view of what kind of lives they would like to lead and have the right to make the choice and certainly they have no rights to impose their life style on others, and certainly should not allow others impose theirs on them.
Under the current sad state, you can communicate with other parents to jointly propose alternatives for the lessons plan at school. This may be a long shot. Independent of anything else, you can turn this into an "education moment" and use this to teach your children to have their own independent opinions and not to accept whatever the teachers or the books are telling them without critical analysis and not be cowed into surrendering to peer and societal pressure.
This is much more important than just this issue. If your kids have the ability to critically think for themselves, what would you have to worry about whatever issues beyond that of homosexuality that the fickle fads of the society can throw at them?
Rather than reading all the garbage of the same sex literature that you listed, I would recommend Ayn Rand's books. If you accept her or libertarian perspectives, you would be immune to all kinds of bullshit like those glorification of the homosexuals (just want to add an unnecessary note, I have nothing against homosexuals but am against imposed glorification or denigration of any one group) or any other groups.
You did not completely understand my statement.
