NW absolutely believes your story but

Not necessarily agrees your judgemental conclusion. The parents were not necessary wrong and kid is not necessarily no body yet. It is just too early to tell.
There are so many stories that tell us students who are not doing well at school are not necessarily doing unsuccessfully.
You get your conclusion only because you are a ChineseaAmerican who is still thinking in a Chinese way which might not necessarily right at all
Trust me that there are so many who are an average student at school but do very well after graduation, much better than those who are even straight A at school even fromtop ccollege
