2015年愿景

哈哈，今天还在给老板改稿子。投PNAS，这是第二轮revision了，三个reviewer,两个通过，一个卡住了。希望能让这个reviewer满意。还有三天就是deadline,所以，最后一分钟挑老板的小毛病。我英文并不好，但老板出手的稿子，最后一轮总希望我读，专挑错，从语法到大小写，从逻辑到language art。我常常自己也不明白。觉得不舒服就指出来，老板自己读两次往往就体会出我说的问题。昨天一个from...to和between连用在一个句子里（Between insects and human， and from steriods to peptide hormones)，我说不太舒服，但说不出为什么。老板读了两遍就感觉到了。两个对调位置就好多了。

 

还需要五年时间才能把小儿的大学学费存出来（州大）。所以，还得指望老板能renew一轮他的经费。五年咱也到了可退休的年龄，退不退都行。所以，2015年的第一个愿望就是老板能renew他的NIH grant。

 

多年来赖在大学不走，turn down制药公司的offer,其实也是对实验室的研究太有兴趣。目前的compound还只推进到老鼠身上，离临床还很远。但无论作药物的效果，还是针对的病人都很有现实意义。我刚开始接手建一个现有药物-resistant的细胞模型，就是想吸引industry的兴趣，也是为没有太多办法的癌症晚期病人找到治疗手段。这个细胞模型理论上应该是可能的，现实里还没找到成功的，很challenging。所以，2015的第二个愿望就是建好细胞模型，并希望我们的compound能够在这个模型上如我们所料的，work!

 

陪儿女一步一步走来，女儿的人生路还很长，但作父亲的责任可以明确地说已经完成了；但对儿子我的责任还未了。本以为进了magnet school，学习的事情交给老师；进了跆拳道leadership作教练，作人的教育交给了master,我就当当司机，开开支票。可儿子成熟比他姐姐慢得多，头疼的事不少。俺对儿女向来期望不高--happy,independent and responsible。2015年的第三个愿望就是儿子变得懂事，向自立迈进一大步。

 

2015年的第四个愿望就是太太和我身体健康。老农民一向能吃能睡，太太身体也没大毛病。冬天来了，农民每天锻炼20分钟，有酒就喝，有鱼就吃；太太要能多注意饮食，退休以后手牵手游美国的梦想应该不是空想。
