as long as one studies Humanities, he/she would, inevitably, get a lot of in depth exposures to religions and their impact on human histories. However, having the wealth of that knowledge and understanding does not mean one must have religious believes to get social recognition or acceptance at school or at work. As a matter of fact, religion related topics have become one of the big taboos at work, among others, sex orientation, politics, etc.

But in my opinion, it's to our benefits to gain that knowledge as it enables people to open our minds and heart to welcome people of different believes.
