再俗一下，又是钢琴老师的问题。

我上周五去见了新老师，老太太退休了，闲得没事干，free trial 跟我们搞了一个多小时，最后还是我主动要走的。她可能每天就教个2，3 个学生，晚上，周末不教（多是home schooling).  她一直强调老师和学生要互相喜欢，才教学。从时间上非常符合我的要求。很耐心，和孩子一起练scales. 新曲让孩子先试弹，当场纠正一下，也做不少的示范。

只有一个问题，她弹得也不怎么好，儿子的练习曲她第一次弹居然还弹错了 （当然她是第一次见这谱）。 现在这老师有时也弹错，这也是我不满意的原因之一。老师弹错正常吗？  还有，她说小指injured 了，现在给advanced 的学生只能弹pieces, 不能弹全曲，当然给我儿子还没问题。

但是老太太真是特别好，trial lesson居然还给孩子做一个customized 的 binder, 又送玩具，哎呀，我真不好意思。

看一下她的来信，是不是个好老师呢？ （主要挺远的，她家住另一个林子里。要不我也没这么纠结。 14 miles, 30-35 mins.)

Have him work on his scales:

Each finger deep into the keys.  Each firm and equal.

Tell him to work on:

C Major and it’s relative:   a minor.

Plus:  the major scales he has learned with his other teacher:   using the same technique for each. 

XXX was improving rapidly!!

We will start to work on hand position next time. 

Theory:

Tell XXX to continue in his theory book.  When he does not understand something……put a *question mark* by it.  We will talk about it at beginning of lesson.  He can proceed as far as he wishes.

 

Re:  Bach techniques.  Bach wrote many things to teach his own children and his students.  I have copies of all. 

Bach preludes.  Bach inventions.  I will see how he is doing after another lesson or two.  I do not want to overwhelm him, but neither do I want to hold him back.  Some are quite hard.  Some are not.

I love what I do.  Pure enjoyment for me.

Thank you so very much for the free trial lesson you gave to XXX last Friday!  You are a very patient teacher with efficient methods.  I've checked the calendar that we still have a lesson with the current teacher this week, so may we start the <Day> 9/X?   

BTW, I forgot to ask what was the Bach's book for techniques that you mentioned before?
