你把40个学生同40个小时混淆了，

Not many teachers can handle 40 hrs/week.  In most of the colleges in US, teaching individual lesson 16-17 hrs/week is consider full-time.  One to one teaching is extremely taxing on both the teacher and student.  Of course, some try to do more than normal load.  But three times more?  Hard, very hard.  I think it is slightly higher in college in China, 18 hrs/week.
