我的女儿和你女儿一样也是自2岁起，扁桃体肥大，张口看象两个灯笼，几乎把口腔挡住了。她吃饭时也是吞咽困难,吃的很慢，甚至不时得用手把食物往嗓子眼里推。但和你女儿不同的是，她睡眠时呼噜打得很响，并有憋气的现象。（建议你要求医生做sleeping study)。去看了她的pediatrician 和ent specialist，评估后认为应该手术拿掉。since my daughter was too little and we don't want to take any risk, we talk to another ent doctor for the second opinion and got the same suggestion. i also did a lot of research on internet and talk to the parents whose kids had the same problem. finanly we decided to do the sugery since we realized that this is a serious issue, it can cause some other severe diseases. she had the coblation tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy when she was 28 months old and she was very active again the second day after the surgery and could not be better since then. it is hard for the parents to make such decision (for surgery) when the child is too little, but we never feel regret, because it is really worth it. here is the link for the graphic video of coblation tonsillectomy & adenoidectomy in case you decide to do it. but do not watch it if you are afraid of blood. http://www.entusa.com/coblation_tonsillectomy.htm
