It depends what you want to major. WashU has a top notch pre-med program which is at least as good as some Ivies. Most kids go to WashU because they want to have medical career. If you want to get a job in Wall Street as a banker like Jamie Dammon, it is better to attend Ivy or NYU. In general, WashU is not as well known as Ivies and it does not have the same level name recognition.  However, WashU is a jewish school where you may meet a lot of students with wealthy culture.
