I really appreciate the input from all of you. My son has no hearing problem, does make body languages, seems to like people (he solicits hugs from people all the time, sometimes from strangers in the restaurant). He speaks a word of his own all the time. But he does not seem to make lots of eye contact (when he wants me to pick him up, he'd look at me briefly, but then moves his eyes away).

Since I am getting mixed opinions, I am hoping for the best, but will prepare for the worst. I will talk to the pediatrician again regarding whether we need to see a specialist.
