They are just different kind of schools. UChicago is more focusing on academic career. It prefers its graduates to academic jobs rather than making big money. It is why UChicago has more Nobel winners than H/Y/P which have much longer history. But it bothers a lot of students and parents. In the other hand, IVY schools are training students for all sort of careers, especially those big pays (CEOs, wall streets, politicians, etc.). It depends what career you are going to pursue and what your interests are and what you are capable.
