课外活动，没有AP课，照样上藤校。相反如果在大城市，好高中，可能完美分数都不一定能进州立大学的好专业。在weighted的制度下，一个男生修了4年dance,4年orchestra,一年PE。后来他修了无数的AP课，为了把GPA拉上来。我不认为他是不懂priority或time management的人。他喜欢音乐和舞蹈，但这些是拉分的课。那么是遵从自己的passion去选课，还是遵从GPA去选课？他遵从自己的passion，所以要付出代价来adjust GPA,不然连州大都可能进不了。用他原话，He salved himself，后来进了P。
大千世界，什么样的情况都有存在，不是光你认为的那一种。如果没有经历过高中生涯，不要断言别人必定是如何如何。光听说来，没有身临其境的，未必是真实，或全面的。
