To the 5th point; at least it was still taought in UK in 2010

(although whether they should is another question)

Why do we still teach Freud?

Hi - I'm new to this site so hope I'm not being too controversial here. Now that Psychology is officially a science, I'm curious to know why Freud still appears on all the syllabuses (syllabi?). To me, there's no place in a scientific subject for the bizarre imaginings of one persons fevered mind. It's like teaching Astrology in A level Physics; or Alchemy in Chemistry. There's a reason why you can't get dream analysis on the NHS - I don't think NICE would approve. Just wondered what anyone else thought about this?
