no, physicians in us still enjoy relativly high socialeconmic status, that is a good thing and is essential to attract brightest young man and woman to go to the medical field.  it is good for everyone in the society including doctors and patients.  but if we continue to go down the road 08 is leading us, the medicine wont attract smart young blood, then that will be everyone's lost.  if u want doctors get paied like plumbers, then u value ur life same as toliet.  (when i have medicaid pt, i got paied less than plumber by gov per time unit)
