How do you train your kids to listen to your parents and follow

My boy is 5 years old. He is my only child, I love and spoiled him. He didn't follw his parents instruction.

We went to Chinese school yesterday. He didn't listen to his teacher, he scratched on his own book, and he practiced Chinese character in next lesson. I told him that you should look at white board and listen to your teacher. Don't worry about the Chinese character in next lesson. He didn't listen. I found the page the teacher was talking several times. But he turned the book back to page he wrote several times. He told me loudly: Go away! I don't want to interrupt the class. So I returned to the back row. When the class was dismissed for a break. I don't let him to go outside. I told him:tell me how to pronounce this words. Of course, He didn't know how to speak and he didn't want to say. His classmates and teahers watched us. I was embarrassed, so was he.

I told him several times. We may have to back to China since we don't have green card.You must learn Chinese. But he didn't listen.

How could I let him understand the reality?
I am planning to take away his birthday party, if he keep say no to his parents.
