There is manual volume control on camcorder, even if the external mic cut off AGC, how the user adjust the volume? Unless, the mic has it own volume control. That's rare.
Since portability is not a problem to me, some one suggested that I could use a webcam with a recording program, such as Audacity. Youtube used to have a video on that, but deleted by the owner.
