You are overly simplifying the college admission process

Not everyone admitted to H has national level non-academic talent, so you are overly simplifying the college admission process. Luck certainly palys a role in college admission, and being an Asian certainly made it tougher. As for the case of the OP's daughter, she is obviously VERY strong and should not really be a superise if admitted to all those top colleges she applied. However, it was a mistake being overly confident so she applied only to thsoe "top" colleges. As I said it before, nowdays the competition is so fierce that none can really say for sure that s/he can get into a particular top 10 university before you learn the decision.
