校外merit-based奖学金会影响校内need-based助学金额度吗？

校内need-based助学金（包含少部分work-study grant, 没有loan)大概可Cover娃的70%左右的费用。如果获得校外merit-based奖学金，那会影响校内need-based助学金额度吗？有人说校外merit-based奖学金可冲销work-study grant和loan。请赐教。
