Please read "The Chosen" by Jerome Karabel to understand this issue. The Jews in 1910-1950 faced the exact problem as Chinese American in their college applications. They excel academically and economically, but do not participate in the political process. As a result, Harvard, Yale and Princeton officially termed this "The Jewish Problem", which is to say too many Jews are being admitted, and the schools needs to come up with novel admissions criteria to control the population of Jewish students to ~10%. We as Chinese American never learned. Each focusing only on our family and fail to engage the broader society, that's what get us here.
