My daughter is carpooling with one of her classmates to school. I do the morning shift,
and the other mom does the afternoon shift. More than 1 month ago, another girl mentioned
she wanted to join the carpool (only for the morning), but her mom
won’t be able to drive due to illness and she would like just to pay for the gas, etc…
This girl’s house is relatively close and I only need to drive 2 more blocks. So, I called
her mom and said I would give her daughter a free ride if she had difficulty driving.
She talked about her physical conditions and thanked me for that.
Then later, the girl mentioned her mom drive to work every morning and drive to school
to pick her up every afternoon. Obviously, I was a little bit upset. But, chose to just let it go.
Now, my job requires me to work in a different city every Friday for a couple of months. So,
I called the 3rd girl’s mom and asked if she can drive the girls to school on Friday for
a few weeks. Her mom said she can not, but will check with her hu*****and and call me
back the next day. Now two days has passed, and she never called. This morning, the
3rd girl just mentioned that her dad is sick too, and can not drive.
I rearranged my schedule that allows me to show up late on Friday. But, I have decided
not to pick up the other girl tomorrow. I feel sorry for the girl, but believe it is time to draw a line.
Any comments?
Sorry, can’t type Chinese on my work computer.
