Find a 1040EZ form and an instruction from on-line or in a public library. Let him file indepedently. The reward--200 bucks.

You still claim him as your depedent. Let him study the case--"if someone claim you as a dependent". He will work out logically. Also he will feel proud of himself that he is a tax payer from now on.

 

Even you know how to use the computer software to file your tax return, I can see that you have not really understood the logic of tax.:).
