I guess that parents and kids play different roles in the house and at different life stage, we shouldn't have exact same rules for whole family, right?

Say I ask kids go to bed before 9:00 pm, but I have to do some house work or relax (without kids) for a while, I can not say that I'll go to bed at 9:00 too.

When we set rule to kids, we would explain the reason and why this rule won't apply to this one or that one. Kids would understand.

It's fair rule, not equal rule.
