Kindergarten readiness 学前班是否准备好了

儿子是九月份的生日，今年底就五岁了。在加州我们可以选择让他上kindergarten. （中文应该是学前班还是幼儿园）我也不算是推妈，可觉得他应该升级，理由如下：

- 他的身高和体重都在90%，和五岁的男孩子在一起，不觉得有什么差别。

- 在他的preschool, 他更喜欢和大一点的孩子玩

可我的婆婆坚决反对，说加州最近改了法就是因为认识到九月份的孩子还不够成熟（除了因为经济原因），她以前是小学的老师，认为孩子（especially boys) at this stage, a couple months age difference makes a big difference. and her question is: why rush?

my answer to that is: it is not being rush, but why delay? he is going to be 5 a couple of days after the school begins in fall.
