困惑：学校老师说台湾

有个班学生做 culture/heritage presentation, 一个台湾孩子讲道 -- Taiwai is a small country beside China.。。。班里立刻有学生追问： Is Taiwan a country? 另有两个学生表示台湾不是一个国家。老师concluded: Taiwan IS a country that has its own government and political system. 所有学生被闭嘴。课后又再有议论。

此班学生组成：19个大陆来的；3个台湾的；7个韩国的，一个孟加拉的和一个俄罗斯的。估计这样的组成不多见，不过在这个学校太不奇怪了。类似传闻此起彼伏。。。

各位有过类似经历吗？怎么建议？
