Many good public schools offer a lot of AP classes. If your child is better than average, it is not hard take more than 10 AP courses at the end of 4 year. To get all 5 in all 13 AP tests, I am sure this boy is very smart. What I admire most is that he passed two economics AP through self-study, maybe some others too. It fully demonstrated his talent and discipline. For this kind of kid, parents don't need to push at all.
I am really interested to know if Harvard didn't admit him or he doesn't want to go. If he has made up his mind to be a doctor, it is not bad idea to be in Berkely because he can get many college credits from AP tests there, graduate earlier and make money earlier ...
If he was rejected by Harvard, I would like to learn a lesson here :-) It might be too late since my son will submit EA this week to Harvard...
