看到楼下比较社会养老和子女养老，觉得如果没有MEDICARE

很难想象谁家孩子养得起这个老：）虽说社会保险金和MEDICARE都是摇摇欲坠的东西，但是跟美国的大众比起来，我们这些人的老年应该不算凄凉的。车到山前必有路，别人怎么过咱也怎么过呗：）孩子如果愿意，来点儿锦上添花当然好，但是大头的不可能指望别人包括孩子，政府那里该争取就争取。

我们自己就是上有老下有下的人，可以体会孩子将来走到这一步的难处，决不会有计划地把自己逼到山穷水尽让孩子背包袱。所以该存的退休金或者其他投资不能省，顶多自己平时节省点儿，NETWORTH到不了8位数，7位数还是要的吧？

孩子都有梦想。如果我们没有能力帮助他们实现梦想，比如出资上医法商开公司之类的，至少别把自己变成孩子起飞的绊脚石。同样藤校毕业，没有家庭负担的也许可以去追求“钱途”不明朗的梦，只要自己能养的活就行。有家庭负担的可能就要迫不及待地找高薪工作了，哪怕并非自己最有兴趣的事。
