High costs

Timeshare these days keeps raising maintainance fees. My timeshare is for 40 yr usage only with 12 locations in western US and Hawaii. The company started playing tricks a few years ago. First they raised up maintainance fee (yearly cost on maintaining all the properties, shared by all members) from about $300 to $600+ this year. They also raised maid points (fees to clean up the room after you left) so that the included maid point is only enough for one stay per year. If you stay in more than one properties, you may end up paying $70 per stay.

Timeshare is not for everyone. If you have a big family (6+) and willing to stay in one property for 2 weeks at a time, it can save you money. Otherwise, it is not worth it.
