Unfortunately it is S fare so non-upgradable.
But it is a very good fare for traveling in May/Jun/Jul.
BTW, check Expedia/Travelocity first to see what flights are available at good prices.
Then go to UAL.Com, pull the info up using "by Schedule" and pick the flights - see if UAL.Com prices it the same or not.
Always pull info up by Schedule on airline sites, and pick the same flights to see how it is priced. Pull info up by "Price" often wont show the desired combination, particularly on AA.Com.
While this does not help someone who already booked, hopefully such info would help him next time and others who care to learn a little trick.
