AFAIK, the most viewable part is The Chugach Range. The ranger at the Portage Glacier Visitor Center said what we saw from Anchorage mostly is The Chugach Range.

Though it claims one can see The Alaska Range which is made up by Mt.MKinley, Mt.Foraker and Mt.Hunter.
