Sure - from many locations; I saw it from Flattop Mts

at sunset. But you can also see it from Kinkaid Park and some other locations. Chugach would be almost right next to the city. I saw Alaskan range, Mt.MKinley, Mt.Foraker and a 3rd peak (maybe the Mt Hunter you are referring to). I saw it as I hiked up the Flattop Mountain tail and couldn't believe it at first. I actually asked about 2 locals to make sure. After finishing the hike, watched sunset over McKinley near the parking area and chatted with a few locals to dig for some restaurant information. I commented I wasn't as impressed with the size of McKinley from Anchorage as I was with Rainier from Seattle. 3 guys next to me made the comment McKinely was a lot farther than Rainier to Seattle. One of the 3 guys claimed to be the first climbers up to Foraker and they also climbed McKinley.
