James had wilderness survival training. Let's hope he is OK.
It's difficult to blame him when he is yet to be found. But I personally think it's very poor planning in the least or irresponsible for him to take his very young children onto a treacherous road in the middle of winter. They did not bring extra food either. After visiting families in Seattle area during Thanksgiving, they planned to visit the Oregon coast. It was all over northwest news that a big snow storm was coming. He obviously did not pay enough attention to the changing weather.
They took a short cut and went on a forest road by mistake
