The guy was right about discount ticket. Expedia is a discount retailer. so whatever you bought is a discount airticket. By buying from expedia, you exchange your own flexibility to a cheaper price. That is the whole idea based on which expedia operates.

You may try to negotiate with them this time. but you should realize this fact when you purchase your ticket.
