This bothers me. Is it really so? Or is it just more common among Chinese whom came to northern America as foreign students or scholars in the past thirty years or so? 

I also notice that participants of wxc are typically of such background.

Many comments in wxc do make me feel uncomfortable. There have been posts openly approving western colonialism.
