Within science itself, there is an explanation: every physical theory has a boundary. The theory with its boundary is contained in some space from which the theory is constructed (otherwise, how did it come into existense in the first place?). But once the theory is built, people think reality exists only within the boundary.  Often, the theory builders are aware of that while their students are not.
