虚伪的中国人

唐末南昭国叛乱，据说原因之一是唐朝减少了入贡使节的名额。

无论这是不是叛乱的主因，都反映了一个问题：唐政府要缩减开支。

缩减开支跟减少使节名额有什么关系？关系是以往入贡使节都得到唐政府的大量赏赐，现在唐朝无力承担了。

这就是中国人的虚伪：特别好面子，好到牺牲里子的地步。小国来贡，拿回去的比拿来的还要多。

这有什么可说的？

对比一下西方强国对弱国的态度就有意义了。

与中国对弱小政权的态度相反，西方强国对弱国的态度是拿来的一定要比送去的多。

西方人不虚伪。坦诚到没有面子可牺牲的地步。

为啥？

因为中国人分得开心与物，理与利。而且在力所能及的情况下，总是把心置于物上，理置于利上。

到了力不从心的时候还要如此，就表现为虚伪了。

但明知虚伪也要做样子，这就是理在中国人心中的作用。

这也是理解中国政治与历史的重要线索。

站在利的角度，这是虚伪。

站在文化的角度，这是更高的文明意识。

普通人之间这种意识看不出什么特别，还让人厌恶。

但放到国与国之间，则意义非常重大。

简单地说，就是它让人类文明显得更象人类文明。
